Minister of Worship Arts

Job Summary:  The Minister of Worship Arts  will oversee the personnel, planning, and execution of the comprehensive Worship Arts Ministries of West Conroe Baptist Church, and coordinate with the Senior Pastor and Technical Manager for the planning and administering of church-wide worship services and special events. This person will also lead a large group of paid staff and volunteers to execute each part of the Worship Arts ministry. This person will serve in cooperation with the other ministers and ministries of the church for support and enhancement.

Reports to:  Executive Pastor
Job Status: Full-time, Exempt

  • Executive Admin
  • Associate of Worship
  • Instrumentalists

Character: This person should be a committed Follower of Christ. They must exemplify Christ-like character with the ability to teach, model, and oversee Worship Arts ministry to adults, students, and children. This person must adhere to a high standard of moral conduct as outlined in the personnel handbook of West Conroe Baptist Church. This person must support and model the Mission and Values of West Conroe Baptist Church.  

Qualifications:
  • The Minister of Worship Arts should demonstrate a calling to ministry that has been endorsed through the local church by way of license and ordination.
  • They should be proficient in reading music, teaching music, singing, choral and instrumental conducting, leading worship, and should be instrumentally functional on guitar or piano.
  • A calling to provide servant leadership that encompasses adults, students, and children
  • The ability to clearly cast vision for the Worship Arts Ministry, while aligning it with the overall vision/mission of the church
  • The ability to multi-task with regards to seasonal events, and ministerial needs of the church
  • A student of music culture and current with all new trends and resources
  • A relationship approach to Worship Arts Ministry and a desire to work with other ministry areas within the church to better fulfill the vision of West Conroe Baptist Church
  • Gifted teacher and communicator of God’s Word to the members of the Worship Arts Ministry and leadership
  • Must have the ability to recruit and equip teams and volunteers for the ministry
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skill set
  • An understanding of social media, technology, and media is required
Responsibilities:
  • As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this person will be asked to attend weekly meetings with the Leadership Team and Executive Leadership Team to help with the execution of strategy and communication with the staff. You will be asked to give ideas and feedback regarding church initiatives and communicate all things with your team area(s) 
  • Provide leadership and direction for both Sunday morning worship services at West Conroe Baptist Church
  • Create the weekly worship services of the church with the musical direction and elements of those worship services, under the leadership of the Senior Pastor and coordinating with Technical Manager
  • Ensure each worship service is gospel-saturated and is led in such a way that the congregation has an opportunity for an authentic encounter with God’s presence
  • Maintain vocal and instrumental ensembles, choirs, and an orchestra to incorporate all ages and musical gift sets in service to the Lord through the Worship Arts Ministry
  • Plan and lead special celebrations and seasonal presentations  
  • Direct all weekly rehearsals as necessary and seek to incorporate spiritual formation during these rehearsals
  • Develop and dispense an annual budget for the Worship Arts Ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church
  • Consistently collaborate with the Technical Manager to improve the quality of West Conroe’s technology and its use in ministry, including all applications such as audio, video, software, lighting, and digital media
  • Communicate effectively with worship team volunteers, particularly utilizing the Planning Center Online and WorshiPlanner
  • Participate in the general pastoral care of the congregation as called upon by the Senior Pastor, giving added attention to those who are connected to the Worship Arts Ministry to care for and shepherd them well
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor or Senior Pastor
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Seminary Degree or equivalent graduate degree in musical arts required
  • Extensive experience in this area can substitute in lieu of the above
  • 3-5 years minimal experience in leading music ministry, choirs, orchestra, ensembles, and bands is required

Associate Minister to Children

Job Summary: The Associate Minister Children will assist the Minister to Children in leading the ministries of K – 6th grade. They will also assist in leading parents, leaders, and children in weekly teaching and discipleship.

Reports to: Minister to Children
Job Status: Full-time, Exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities: Can be asked to supervise ministry volunteers

Responsibilities:
  • Must be willing to teach a student Sunday Life Group and Kid’s Church
  • Assist, and or lead, a creative, engaging, and Bible focused Wednesday Night
  • Assist, and/or lead, in a student leadership team
  • Connect with students, parents, and leaders each week by making personal visits, emails and phone calls
  • Assist Minister to Children in overseeing year-round activities (such as preteen camp, Parent’s Night Out, Vacation Bible School)
  • Participate and lead out in church-wide annual events such as (Bethlehem City, VBS, Cross Conroe)
  • Assist in the development of volunteers in the Children’s ministry, and provide training/meeting times when applicable
  • Participate as part of the Discipleship Team (Children, Students, and Adults)
  • Coordinate with Minister to Students and Associate Minister to Young Adults to integrate children into each ministry
  • Other duties assigned by the Minister to Children
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Current Seminary Student Preferred

Facilities Operations Assistant

Job Summary: The Facilities Operations Assistant will perform minor repair, maintenance, and upkeep of the buildings, maintenance and minor repairs of irrigation system, and any other maintenance duties assigned.

Reports to:  Facilities Operations Manager
Classification:  Full-time, Part-time, Non-Exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities: None

 

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Minor repair and maintenance of plumbing, painting, drywall, electric, lighting, air conditioning, and minor remodeling and carpentry
  • Conduct all required procedures for winterizing the facilities
  • Notify Facilities Operations Manager of problems that need addressing.  This may include assisting with meeting subcontractors to describe issues
  • Moving furniture around the church area as requested
  • Go to supply stores to purchase materials and supplies when necessary
  • Outside maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs of irrigation system and other maintenance repairs including tree trimming, cleaning rain gutters and roofs, pressure washing, painting, and other assigned duties
  • Complete work orders or other maintenance tasks assigned
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Facilities Operations Manager
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic skills in use of hand tools and power tools
  • Basis knowledge of facilities maintenance
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of electrical (i.e. ballast, light switch replacements), plumbing, air conditioning, and general maintenance repair
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior maintenance experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work in all types of environments (inside and out)

Executive Administrative Assistant – Adults

Job Summary: The Executive Administrative Assistant for Adults is responsible for overseeing administrative duties for the Adult Ministry which includes working with Minister to Adults, Minister to Senior Adults and Associate Minister to Young Adults.   This role is also highly involved in certain aspects of other Ministry Teams for the purpose of advancing the overall Church strategy.

Reports to: Minister to Adults
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for large groups of volunteers at times for such things as Bethlehem City, Cross Conroe and other events
  • Responsible for small groups of volunteers with such things as life group leaders and correspondence with these groups
  • Can be asked to supervise any interns in the ministry area for West Conroe Baptist Church when applicable
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings for general staff updates and prayer
  • Create website content for Adult Ministry, Wednesday Family Nights, and update information about the ministry brochure. Design and print promotional material for the ministry area
  • Responsible for managing travel arrangements for Adult Minister and outside event teams as needed including airlines tickets, van rental, hotel accommodations, insurance, purchase orders, and check requests
  • Manage curriculum orders and distribution, Adult Library areas, Right Now Media, and ensuring proper processes are followed
  • Responsible for managing event information and communication of church functions within designated areas and coordinate with the Executive Pastor and BackStage Media for all website and social media graphics and data needed
  • Work with Minister of Adults and oversee in managing financial records, purchase orders, check requests, and deposits
  • Responsible for registering volunteers for conferences and events by processing trip applications and monies received.Ensure proper processes are completed in Service U; including reserving vans, trailers, building usage, and all appropriate record keeping 
  • Manage marketing and promotions (Next Steps area, Marriage & Family Center, announcement slides, worship guide, all print material, and The Crossing)
  • Manage attendance records for Life groups, Wednesday Family Nights, and Weekday Bible Studies, and follow all reporting processes
  • Provide updated reports on such things as spaces for Life Groups, Wednesday Family Nights and Weekday Bible studies
  • Coordinate the offices of the Minister to Adults and Minister to Senior Adults
  •  All Executive Admins could be asked to assist the receptionist with phone calls, visitors, printing, and folding of brochures as needed – this will be coordinated with the Office Manager
  • Support for the following ministries: Young Adult Ministry, Serve Central, Job Success, In-Touch, Legacy, CSI: Singles, Orphan Care, Women’s, Men’s, Bethlehem City, and Bethlehem City Auction
  • Submit to the leadership and established policies and doctrine of West Conroe Baptist Church
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Minister of Adults and/or Minister to Senior Adults
 Required Skills:
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask required
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite applications is required
  • Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to be a self-starter and learner
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible to assist with meetings and projects outside of normal business hours and handle interruptions with professionalism
  • Detail oriented with the ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems
  • The ability to supervise both individuals and large groups
  • Knowledge of office procedures required
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Secretary / Receptionist

Job Summary:  The Secretary/Receptionist will be known as the voice and first impression of West Conroe Baptist Church by answering all incoming telephone calls, greeting visitors, processing incoming and outgoing mail, assisting with general office duties, and performing other clerical support for the office West Conroe Baptist Church.

Reports to: Office Manager
Classification:  Part-time, Non-Exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities:  None
 
Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for switchboard operations, voice mailbox, fax machine, postage meter, guest reception window, answering calls promptly and courteously, and responding to emails daily
  • Coordinate with Office Manager to schedule volunteers and admins for any extended time away from the receptionist area
  • Greet and assist all walk-in guests in a friendly and professional manner and set the tone for all guests entering the church
  • Operate magnetic locks on all doors at the beginning and end of each day. Monitor all entrances entering the main building throughout the day, including incoming/outgoing mail, deliveries and member services. Distribute mail for staff and ministries
  • Assist internal ministries such as In-Touch, Bible Study Groups, prayer requests, hospital board, hospitality team, and food pantry with needed secretarial aid
  • Responsible for ordering all office and postal supplies as well as copier ticket maintenance and supplies
  • Assist the Missions Executive Admin with such things as copying brochures and preparing Membership Class info, preparing visitor bags, gathering prayer requests and distributing as appropriate, and updating hospital board and prayer room
  • Coordinate the reservations for Wednesday night suppers and assist with the planning of meals, supplies and various functions for special events such as Bethlehem City and Cross Conroe
  • Assist Office Manager with such things as Shelby profiles, death of loved ones, and general information. Provide assistance with various church and office operations (ticket sales, sign-up sheets, check distribution, and Sunday worship guide).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager
