Raised to New Life
"So those who accepted his message were baptized." Acts 2:41
Baptism is a public declaration that someone has trusted Christ with their life and will follow him all their days. It serves as an illustration of the gospel itself: Just as Christ was buried and resurrected, going under and coming up from the water is a visual depiction of our identification with Jesus’s death and resurrection. Baptism is also the front door of church membership, where we commit to live out our discipleship among a specific local church. The way we often phrase it is, “Baptism is putting on the team jersey of team Jesus.”
